‘Neurobic’ Exercise
Activities that shake up your routine and use your sense in unusual ways can help to make your brain more agile and flexible.
Here are just a few:
1. Morning Roulette–Brush your teeth, or do any daily activity like shaving or styling your hair, with your nondominant hand.
2. Ongoing Chess Game– At the office, leave a chess board out so that any worker can come along, assess the situation, and make a move anonymously.
3. Visit a Farmer’s Market–Relish the diversity of shapes, color, aromas and tastes.
4. Close your eyes and open wide–Identify food on your plate only by smell, taste and touch.
5. Introduce Novelty–Take a different route to work, or as you walk your dog; try a differenty breakfast regime or switch places at the table.
